Columbus Christian School is proud of their student athletes. Students at Columbus Christian can participate in many extracurricular activities including volleyball, boys and girls basketball, soccer, golf, baseball, softball, and cross country. When you walk in the gymnasium, banners reveal the success that our student athletes have had at Columbus Christian.
Athletics are intended to be fun, but it also takes some work from students and parents to make it all happen. There are several volunteer opportunities at Columbus Christian. Not only can you volunteer in the concession stand, or sit at the ticket table for sporting events, but you can also volunteer at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the Indianapolis 500, the Brickyard 400, or the Moto GP. If you would like to help during these events, contact the office at Columbus Christian School.

The main approach to athletics must stem directly from the school's Christian philosophy of education since it is foundational to every part of the total school program. A brief philosophical statement of athletics is "to develop the athlete spiritually, mentally, and physically so that his spirit, mind, and body are directed and controlled by the Holy Spirit." (I Thessalonians 5:23)
I Corinthians 10:31 states, "Whether, therefore, ye eat, or drink, or whatever ye do, do all to the glory of God." Therefore, the Christian athlete ought to strive for excellence because he is motivated by the desire to use his talents for "the glory of God."
Like everything else in the Christian life, athletics must be kept in balance. As Paul reminds us in I Timothy 4:8, "bodily exercise profiteth little." In other words, we must strive to keep athletics at Columbus Christian School in the proper perspective. Athletics are to be fun and helpful in the Christian life, and also to build the character of Christ in each athlete. Jesus Christ is alive! Let's make it known through sports at Columbus Christian School!
